Greetings new and returning Tigers! I am Ahvery Thomas, your Miss Grambling State University 2009-2010, welcoming you to an exciting new school year. GSU prides itself on education and programs that will provide opportunity for your excellence and will train you with the skills needed for your future. I want to encourage you to take advantage of job fairs, internships and other programs and organizations that will help you for your journey ahead.
Not only is Grambling State University all about academics, but we are also about school pride. We do this by supporting our SWAC and National Black College Champions – the G-Men, dancing with our World Famed Tiger Marching Band, and cheering with our nationally ranked cheerleading squad.
We carry this school pride through the spring by supporting our basketball teams, baseball team, track and field, and all other athletics.
We will ensure your college experience with special events such as: Homecoming, TigerFest, The Big Event, and the BET College Tour.
So as you see, we here at Grambling State University offer education as well as fun. To new students, choosing Grambling State University was a great choice, and to all returning students, thanks for coming back to dear ol’ Grambling.
