Senior Class VP drops advice for graduation

Our time has finally come and graduation is just a few days away. This is a very exciting time and we are all anxious for May 16th to get here.Clearance forms for graduation can be picked up in the Student Accounts Office on the second floor in Long-Jones Hall. Signatures from various academic departments are required for the forms to be completed. As soon as you pick up the form you can get a signature from one of assistants in Student Accounts.

You will also need a signature from Career Services in JTS, Student Life in Grambling Hall, the campus mailroom, and financial aid. Once the forms are completed, take them to the registrars’ office on the first floor of Grambling Hall. You will need the pink copy to pick up cap and gowns from the bookstore. The absolute last day to submit clearance forms for graduation is May 8th.

Cap and gowns can be picked up from the bookstore beginning May 6th. You will need a copy of the completed clearance form to receive your cap and gown.

Our commencement will be held in the Student Assembly Center on May 16, 2009 at 10:00 am. Guests are not required to have a ticket so we are free to invite as many people as we would like. It is mandatory that all graduates attend rehearsal, which will be on Thursday, May 14 at 9:00 am.

If you have not already done so, I urge you to make an appointment with Mrs. Willis in Career Services. She has been beyond helpful in assisting our class with getting jobs and accepted in to graduate and professional schools.

You can make an appointment with her this week if you still do not have a job or have not yet been accepted into a graduate or professional school. We are all very thankful and appreciative for Mrs. Willis selfless assistance. She has had a hand in many of our class members landing high-quality jobs and getting accepted into the school of their choice.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or our Vice-President, Staci Hall.
