Network to sponsor three events

Idol 2009 to be held next weekThe Grambling Sports Radio Network will present GSU Idol 2009, coming up Feb. 12-14.

GSU Idol is a singing competition that gives Grambling State students an opportunity to show off there vocal skills.

GSU students will have the opportunity to compete for a $250 book scholarship, be the opening act for Tigerfest 2009, be featured in an article in The Gramblinite, do radio interviews at stations across north Louisiana, plus many more prizes.

Tryouts will be on Feb. 12 at the Robinson Stadium Support Facility, while the semifinals will be at the same site on Feb. 13.

The finals will be during halftime of the men’s basketball game Feb. 14.

Breast cancer awareness set

The Grambling Sports Radio will observe breast cancer awareness on Feb. 14 and Feb. 16.

On Feb. 16 for the game against Texas Southern, there will be bags made for victims of breast cancer.

The game will be televised on ESPNU.

Show for Dough at game Monday

At the basketball game on Monday, the Sports Radio Network will sponsor a Show for Dough contest.

The organization with the most people present at the game, will receive a cash prize.
