SGA prez extends welcome

Welcome back students and faculty of Grambling State University, I hope everything went well for your Christmas break. We are preparing for another busy and exciting semester. We should all now be proud that the day has finally come for our President Barrack Obama as he accepts his new role as the President of the United States.

I know he will lead us in the right direction. I hope the students of Grambling State University had a safe trip and had a great time in Washington, D.C. I am very happy that the SGA and FSUB had an opportunity to send students to the Inauguration.

I am excited with the things planned for this semester. Over the break, the vehicles were ordered and the school will have the vans for student transportation projected in late February. Drivers will be trained and the service will be ready to begin.

In addition, the movie theatre has begun the remodeling stages in the atrium. It is projected to be up and running at the end of March. Along with these two major projects, our third project will be completed soon as well and that is the resurrection of the Student Arcade and Game Room.

We are currently in the process of installing the Playstation 3 and X-Box 360, along with a Nintendo Wii for your entertainment. Not to mention, the pool tables will be returning as well.

We are working on a mentor program this semester. We want to focus on High school students and prepare them for college and keep them maintained on the right path through their college career. SGA Week, Spring Olympics, The Big Event, and Culture Fest are four of our major projects this semester and we hope that every student on Grambling State University’s campus benefits from it.

The Student Government Association is still and always will be looking for new members who would like to represent their student body and make a change around campus.

Please feel free to visit us in the Student Government Offices upstairs in the Student Union.
