After defeating arch rival Southern 29-14 in the annual Bayou Classic, the G-Men have punched their ticket to the SWAC championship game.

These two teams are very familiar with each other, even though Grambling has beaten Jackson State two out of the last three times, Jackson State beat Grambling 42-31 for the SWAC title last year.

Although the offense started the game off very sloppy, they bounced back after being down 14-12 at the half, they would score 15 points to pull away for the Jagurs. Quarterback Greg Dillion accounted for 287 yards.

Although the defense looked very shaky in the first half, it bounced back in the second half, pitching a shutout.

After knocking Southern quarterback Bryant Lee out the game, the secondary was very opportunistic, picking off backup quarterback Warren Matthews three times.

The defense also held the Jaguars to 1-3 in the end zone. Linebacker Keefe Hall led the defense with 12 tackles and a interception.
