The Delta Sigma chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity held voter registration activities in local housing complexes on Sunday. Members went door to door, garnering support from approximately 50 unregistered voters prior to the last day of local eligibility for registration.
“West Grambling” housing complex, Pinecrest II, “East Grambling” housing complex, and other local housing villages in Grambling were targeted.
The voter registration effort was held in an attempt to increase the number of registered voters in the area.
The project also focused on increasing black voter turnout in the upcoming presidential election. Chapter brothers continue to encourage people to vote regardless of what party affiliations they may have.
Because of the impact the election will have on the economy, military situation and foreign policies, the Alphas urge everyone to vote on Nov. 4.
