Top junior class officer talks about future plans

First, let me say that it gives me great pleasure to serve as Junior Class President for the 2008-2009 school year. The other Junior Class officers include Tierra Walter, vice president; Luquiria Brown, treasure; Mykel Luke, secretary; along with Nick Daily, Antoinette Johnson, and LaCresha Douresseaux, junior class senators. We plan to have an exciting and successful year. The junior class will focus on being active not only on campus but in the surrounding community.

It is time that we become active in knowing what is happening on our campus. It’s time once again for the students to stand up and be heard. We need to be involved in the decisions that affect our matriculation here at GSU.

One of my goals is to see that we get a new Chase ATM placed on campus. Since our school banks with chase, I don’t see the reason why we don’t have a Chase ATM on campus. During Thanksgiving we will hold a Canned Food Drive for the local Salvation Army and clothing and coat drive during Christmas.

There will also be a seminar on senior prep, so that the juniors will know exactly what it they need to do to become graduating seniors next fall. These are just a few of the issues that we have already discussed and plan to tackle this semester.

Our next two class meetings will be Oct. 23 and Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. in Room 243 of the student union. We will be looking for volunteers for our upcoming events so come and help this year become a success. If you have any concerns, issues, or suggestions come out and let your voice be heard. It’s time to make a difference.

I hope to see all juniors at our next two meetings and upcoming events. Thank you all for your support.
