From worst to first for Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Rays have the potential to do something that no team has done in baseball since 1991: finish first in a division after finishing dead last the season before. Since the Rays’ formation in 1998, no one other than the Red Sox or Yankees has won the AL East title.According to ESPN.com, the Rays’ 95th win broke the league record for the most wins in a turn-around season, a record previously held by the 1991 Atlanta Braves.

This season, the Rays have taken the nonchalant approach to the pressure of keeping the momentum of playing good baseball at the beginning of the season.

Their latest accomplishment has been the first double-header sweep of the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday.

The fans are excited about the Rays since Tropicana Field has already sold out the first two home games of the Divisional Playoffs. And the regular season hasn’t even ended yet.
