Senior Class head tells of future plans

First, let me begin by thanking you for allowing me to serve as your Senior Class President for this school year. I am very humbled and honored by the overwhelming support that I have received since taking office. I look forward to helping make this year a huge success for our class. As I promised during the campaign, there will be many activities planned for our class this year. I have already met with Mrs. Willis in Career Services to begin plans for our career fairs.

The 41st Annual Fall Career Fair will be held on Oct. 16 in the Men’s Gym at. Representatives from over 50 businesses, corporations, and institutions will be in attendance.

We have already received confirmation of attendance from American Airlines, Enterprise Rental Company, IBM, State Farm Insurance, Wal-Mart, and Walgreen’s. Attire for this event is business formal.

Our first class meeting will be held on September 22 in room 242 on the second floor in the union. A representative from Career Services will be at this meeting to register students for the career fairs and demonstrate the procedure for submitting your resume through the University’s Web site.

If you have any request or suggestions for corporations that you feel need to be included or invited to the career fairs please notify us at the meeting. Refreshments will be served at this meeting.

Also, a lot of you have expressed interest in a senior class trip during spring break next semester. If you have any suggestions for a location or an idea for a fundraiser, please notify me or one of the other class officers.

If you have any questions or concerns, please come by the Senior Class office, which is in room 213 in the Union. Our class is very fortunate to have an outstanding group of individuals as its leaders.

Staci Hall, our Vice-President, LaShonna Rose, our Secretary, and Liselle Griffith, our Treasurer, have all been working very hard to plan these events and make this year a success for our Senior Class.
