UPDATE: Police looking for suspects in robberies

UPDATE: 9:45 a.m.The campus of Grambling State was locked down last night on one side of campus due to gunmen robbing students in Tubman Hall.

According to several witnesses, men dressed in all black were sporting at least one AK-47 and one shotgun.

TheGramblinite.com called the GSUPD early Wednesday morning around 1 a.m. for an update on the story, and they refused to comment.

According to Ralph Wilson, spokesman for GSU, the GSUPD has a description of the suspects, and they are looking for them.

After news broke of the gunmen robbing the dorm, TheGramblinite.com was on the scene. Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Ruston Police Department were also on the scene assisting the campus police and the city police.

The campus was locked down for a few hours as police officers looked through Tubman Hall for the gunmen.

In April, GSU was locked down after a student fired a gun in the air. Police officers did make arrests in that case, after searching the campus.

TheGramblinite.com will have continuing coverage of this story.
