Lady Tigers soccer stages comeback win

The Lady Tigers soccer team staged a stunning comeback today, beating the Lady Techsters 3-2. Tech went up 2-0, as the Lady Tigers struggled to get some offense going.The Lady Tigers were a player short due to a depleted depth chart. Only 10 players started the game, and at least two players went down during the game. Those players came back and played hurt.

However, after a constant battle of wills, the Lady Tigers cracked the scoreboard on a penalty kick goal by Angelica Singh. Later in the game, a swirling kick from Whitney Weddington sent the ball into the back of the net, tying the game with less than five minutes to go.

It only took about five minutes in overtime for the Lady Tigers to capitalize on the momentum. A wild scramble for the ball broke out after a corner kick, allowing Chelsea Miller to plant the ball in the back of the net, giving the Lady Tigers an upset win over the Lady Techsters.

The win prevented the Lady Techsters from picking up its first-ever victory over the Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers next game comes on Friday in El Paso during the Border Shootout tournament.
