Grambling State opens the season Saturday, when the Tigers travel to Reno, Nev. to face the Nevada Wolfpack of the WAC.GSU Head Football Coach Rod Broadway gives us insight on the problems that Nevada pose and the things that his team must do to pull out a victory.

Problems that Nevada pose on Offense

They are a really good football team. They have a good scheme. They have a good Offensive Line. They also have a good quarterback named Colin Kapernick ( 2,605 total yards and 25 touchdowns last season) a good runningback in Luke Lippincott (1,675 total yards and 15 total touchdowns) and a good wide receiver named Marko Mitchell ( 47 catches for 1,033 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Problems that Nevada faces on Defense

They have real good skill players in the secondary and the are very big up front.

What GSU must do on offense to win the game

We need to protect the football, make plays and give ourselves a chance.

What GSU must do on defense to win the game

We need to stop the run, play fast and not give up anything cheap.

What GSU must do on special teams to win

Be very sound in the kicking game and kick the ball in the right spots.
