Services set Monday for long time Grambling resident

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. for Levallion L. Page at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Grambling. The church located on 2586 Highway 150.A wake for Page will be held Sunday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Our Christian Funeral Home on 1200 Jones St. in Ruston.

Mr. Page was a retired Grambling State University employee. He worked for over 30 years in the GSU Facilities Department as an electrician.

He lived in the Grambling community for a number of years. Reared his family and watched his grandchildren grow up on the community streets.

He is the father of Lawrence, who is a GSU facilities supervisor, as well as Dr. Lorraine Page Cadet, who is employed in the Department of English.

Page was a deacon of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served on the usher board. He was a custon at the church at one time as well as a helper with building and grounds minister.

Some remember Page as the tall bright man around Grambling, but others remember him as quiet, helpfull, and easy going.

“He went about during his work and Mr. Page, just like his son Lawrence, was an easy going person,” said Katie Calloway, an assistant in facilities.

Gwendolyn Duplantier, Mt. Zion member and resident of Grambling said, “I remember Mr. page as a compassionate and easy going person.”
