Monroe area to host Louisiana Baptist State Convention

The Louisiana Baptist State Convention and Congress of Christian education will meet in Monroe July 20-25. The meeting will be the 135th annual session and the 24th annual congress.
The convention will kick off with an annual musical Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Monroe Civic Center Theater. Registration will take place Monday, July 21 at beginning at 7 a.m. at Carroll High School on Renwick St. The Congress arm of the convention will hold general assembly at 8:30 a.m. in the school auditorium followed by class sessions. All children and youth in the convention will report to Carroll Junior High School at 8 a.m.
Class sessions or the Convention in Study will continue on Tuesday until Thursday from 8 a.m. until 10:30. The Congress Dean’s message will be given on July 22 in school auditorium at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 23 the Congress Director will delivery his message at 10:45 a.m. in the auditorium and Thursday the President of the Convention, Rev. Harry Blake, will give his message at 10:45 a.m. in the auditorium.
A Children’s Hour and Youth Rally will take place on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the youth at 7:15 p.m. The convention commencement will be held at Mount Olivet Baptist Church Friday, July 25 at 8:30 a.m. A business meeting will rap up the 135th session.
