Two GSU football players sign NFL free agent contracts

Two former GSU football players that will be playing on Sunday. Shortly after this weekend’s NFL draft concluded ,wide receiver Clyde Edwards and DeMicheal Dizer were signed to free agent contracts.Clyde Edwards signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 5-10,175 pound wide receiver from Houston, was arguably one of the best wide receivers to ever put on a GSU uniform. Edwards a four year starter , amassed an incredible 197 catches for 3,216 yards and 37 touchdowns.

His honors included: First team All-SWAC, Sheridan Network Black College All American team, College Sporting News Fabulous fifty all American team and LWSA all Louisiana second team. Edwards excelled off the field, graduating this past fall with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

DeMicheal Dizer is headed north to play for the Seattle Seahawks. Dizer a 6-1, 185 pound safety from Sterlington will have to play cornerback at the next level. The four year starter, had a total of 92 tackles, 18 pass breakups and 7 interceptions during his career.

NFL scouts were impressed by Dizer’s big time performances in the Tiger’s perimere games this season. Against Pittsburgh, he had 11 tackles and one interception and against University-Louisiana-Monroe, he had 5 tackles and one interception.
