Grambling High track coach Jiles an inspiration to his team

When you think about the Grambling High School Kittens, you automatically think about Michael Lyons bringing excitement every year in basketball, the football team making their marks in District 2A, ending with the band giving friends, family and alumni something to get out of their seats for and show off their Kitten pride. Now the GHS track team is well on its way to the big game.

This year’s focus is on strength, hustle, attitude, confidence, and the everlasting commitment for both head coaches to push the players to keep going even when things get tough.

Coach Michael Jiles is an inspiration to his team. The Kittens have one goal, one obligation, one dream, and that is to get to Baton Rouge.

The Kittens will travel to Cedar Creek this Thursday to compete in big district tourney that means everything to them.

“We have established respect in the state of Louisiana, and our goal is to get to Baton Rouge,” Jiles said.

“I would love to leave a championship with GHS because of the love and respect I have for the city of Grambling. I want to be remembered and not forgotten. I will rally the kids and hope to do that.
