Next week the Tigers will travel to Jackson, Miss., to take on Jackson State University in a crucial SWAC battle. Like Grambling, Jackson State is reeling after their loss to Prairie View University. They are also missing Tray Johnson, their best player and leading scorer from the past two years.
In order for the G-Men to get this season on the right path, Andre Ratliff must be more consistent. This year’s team is depending on the senior from Pontiac, Mich., more than in years past. He must shoot a better percentage, run the Tiger offense and distribute the ball to teammates like Anthony Williams and Jamal Breaux if the G-Men want to make the SWAC tournament.
On the women’s side, the Lady Tigers will go as far as Paris Hawkins will take them. She has to make better decisions with the ball and cut down on her turnovers. If the squad wants to become a dominant team, they must play better defense.
