Start the semester off right!

As the new semester begins a new year, it’s easy to get behind on your studies. This semester is usually considered the relaxing semester, as there isn’t the same amount of hype as last semester. However, don’t get too relaxed. Classes are still under way, and every decision you make can and will affect you in the future. Not going to class can easily help determine if you get a C or a B. So make sure to get up and go to your classes and be on time.

While this semester will have its busy points, don’t forget to have fun. Some students tend to focus more on the work aspect and not have fun, which can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle.

Go to a party or two to ease the stress of classes. Kick it with your friends on the weekends you are free.

College life is all about balance. You can easily have fun and successfully pass classes with the right balance. It shouldn’t be all work, and it shouldn’t be all play. Get in a zone and stay in it. Don’t let outside distractions affect you.

So, get off the yard (but stop going on those late night trips to Wal-Mart). Don’t go to “the Port” to gamble all of your refund away. Spend that money on books and paying off credit cards or other debts.

Invest your money and time into bettering yourself to make yourself happy. Don’t worry about what others say. You are the one who has to look in the mirror every day. Also, don’t keep tearing up things, because YOU will have to pay for it eventually.

Read a few books, read the newspaper, make friends, go out, have fun, DO YOUR WORK! Your work now will determine if you have to work for the rest of your life.

Have a great semester!
