National group offering book scholarshipsGrambling State students are eligible for Thurgood Marshall College Fund scholarships. One such scholarship available immediately is the $500 GMAC Book Scholarship. The deadline to apply is Dec. 7.

Applicants must see the GSU scholarship coordinator, Gloria George, before TMCF can award any funds.

Dec. 15 set as date for local alumni meeting

The Elizabeth Robinson Chapter of the Grambling University National Alumni Association will hold a meeting on Dec. 15. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. in Grambling City Hall.

Students, faculty are urged to use Blackboard

The Distance Learning Program, in conjunction with the Faculty Professional Development Component, is currently offering Blackboard training (online and Web-enhanced) workshops through summer 2008.

Deans and department heads are encouraged to schedule their faculty for Blackboard training. Training for faculty will be held in the Faculty Professional Development Lab, Room 176 in the Assembly Center.

Faculty are urged to Web enhance traditional courses by using Blackboard in the classroom. To register for spring 2008 courses on Blackboard, contact DLP at 274-6321, 274-6411 or visit www.gram.edu _ _dl.

Disaster response help sought in Dulac

UMVIM teams are desperately needed in Dulac. The Disaster Response Ministry in Dulac has received a grant of $250,000 that must be spent on the purchase of materials for client homes prior to Dec. 31, and all projects must be completed by Feb. 15.
