Aigner Ricci Edgerson is the first Douglas L. Williams and Charitable Foundation scholarships recipient. “Being the first student to receive this scholarship is truly an honor,” said Edgerson, a Missouri City, Texas, native. A junior with a 3.2 GPA, edgerson is a theatre major and mass communication minor.

She is a resident of Missouri City, Texas, and a May 2005 graduate of Elkins High School.

On campus, Edgerson is active with the NAACP, Floyd Sandle Players Play Production and the Favrot Student Union Board.

As a recipient of the scholarship, Aigner will volunteer at the Grambling University National Alumni Association house on campus to enhance her knowledge about the organization and its mission.

DLW Scholarship & Charitable Foundation was implemented in July 2006 to provide scholarships to academically eligible students from Houston and surrounding areas. The scholarship is provided annually for the fall semester. Information about the scholarship is posted on the foundation’s Web site, www.help2educate.net.

Susan Feazell, Black and Gold Gala chairperson, lauded Edgerson’s recommendation and community service participation as “exemplary.”

“Aigner is committed, dedicated and has a desire to succeed,” Feazell said.
