Graduation speaker a familiar face at GSU

Dr. Leon Whittaker will be the speaker for the fall 2007 graduation Friday December 14 at 10:00a.m.Whittaker is a native of Bossier Parish where he completed his public school education. He earned the Bachelor of Science degree from Grambling State University; the Master of Arts degree from Michigan State University; the Doctor of Education degree from Washington State University; and Postgraduate Certificate from Harvard University.

Spending 28 years of his life at Grambling State University, Whittaker served as a Counselor, Professor of Education, Director of Career Counseling and Placement, Dean of Students, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies.

He presently serves on the Executive Board of Ouachita Valley Council and Boy Scouts of America. Not only has Dr. Whittaker been a valuable asset to the community, but he has been a great leader to Grambling State University as well.
