Alicia Keys is back, intoxicating her fans with powerful lyrics and a soulful voice. It has been a while since we have consumed her seductive words since Songs in A Minor in 2001, Diary of Alicia Keys in 2003, and Unplugged in 2005, but the 26-year-old Harlem native has done it again dropping her fourth album entitled, As I Am. Hitting the charts with a convincing #1 debut on the Billboard charts since it was released on November 13th. It sold 740,000 units in its first week.
Keys has had a long successful run at the top of the charts, in 2001 her debut single, “Fallin” climbed to the #1 mark.
Next was 2003’s “You Don’t Know My Name.” 2004 delivered “If I Ain’t Got You,” and “My Boo” (featuring Usher) also hitting the # 1 spot. It seems as though Alicia Keys gets better as the years pass.
The 14 track album features her # 1single No One, produced by Alicia Keys and Kerry “Krucial” Brothers. It also features Like You Will Never See me Again produced by Alicia Keys, and like Lesson Learned (featuring John Mayer), which is also produced by Keys.
Everyone has looked forward to this album since her last release a few years ago, and the demand only got stronger when “No One” started blowing up all over the airwaves, Alicia Keys has been solid thus far in her career, and As I Am proves that her music will definitely stand the test of time.
