Acts for annual talent extravaganza announced

The Grambling State University College of Arts and Sciences will present the Charles L. Brooks Talent Extravaganza featuring the talents of COAS faculty and staff will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the School of Nursing auditorium. Admission for students is a $1 and nonstudents is $5.Tickets may be purchased in Carver Hall Room 114 and Woodson Hall Room 1. Proceeds from the benefit will go toward the arts and sciences scholarship fund.

Talents for the extravaganza will include a performance of Beyonce Knowles’ “Irreplaceable” by the dean, associate dean and biological sciences’ administrative assistant, the Clerical Club, the Science and Math Department head band featuring Dr. Avaine Strong (physics department head) on guitar. A rap song performance by biology professor Dr. Milford Greene will also be featured.

Dr. Rose Harris, head of Political Science/Public Administration, will give a dramatic presentation, “Speaking (of) Truth: The Life and Times of Sojourner Truth.”

A special performance will be done by Dr. Robert Dixon, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.

There will be a featured performance by the GSU Orchesis Dance Company ensemble, which will perform “You’re Gonna Love Me” from the Broadway musical Dream Girls.
