Student stabbed in dorm

When one approaches a college campus, the last thing one thinks about is crime. This, however, was not the case Sunday in Tiger Village Complex. A female Grambling State student was stabbed in the chest. “My sister got stabbed… . I heard her crying and I looked outside and she was on th ground bleeding,” said Hersey Ford, a sophomore from Angie.

Ford, who immediately ran and got his friend Antonio Grimes, a freshman nursing major, to assist with the wounded woman.

According to Grimes, the woman had a deep wound to her chest close to her diaphragm. “I applied pressure to her chest to stop the bleeding then had onlookers rub her legs and arms to keep her from getting cold,” he said.

There was not an official release of the victim’s and suspect’s names by the university at press time. The Gramblinite will continue to investigate this situation.
