GSU Trump Alcorn

The Grambling Tigers captured their first victory Saturday, defeating the Alcorn St. Braves 31-10. The Tigers jumped ahead early after Brandon Landers connected with Reginal Jackson for his first touchdown reception of the day. The score remained 7-0 until the middle of the second quarter when Landers threw his second touchdown to Clyde Edwards with nearly seven minutes to go in the half.

The Tigers increased their lead with a field goal to make the score 17-0 at half time.

The Tigers did not miss a beat, scoring on their first possession of the second half when Landers and Jackson hooked up for their second touchdown of the day. The Braves would answer with a field goal which made the score 24-3.

Edwards scored his second touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter which made the score 31-3 with thirteen minutes left in the game. The Braves would add a touchdown to make the final score 31-10.

Next up for the G-Men, a trip to Pittsburgh to take on the University of Pittsburgh Saturday.
