The man with many names

When we are born our parents give us a name that we have to answer to for the rest of our lives. Throughout life our friends and family give us nicknames that we also answer to. If someone calls us something other than our name or nickname nine times out of ten we don’t answer. How many people do you know, you can call almost anything and they will answer? Well I personally know of only one, who I can call mom, dad, brother or sister and it all means the same. He doesn’t ignore you if you don’t call Him by the name His mother gave Him. In fact, He loves it when you have your own personal relationship with Him. If you find yourself in an unpeaceful place just call Him your Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and He’ll shower you with peace. If you find yourself hungry and just can’t seem to find a source of food just call Him your Bread of Life (John 6:36) and He’ll fill you up. If you are feeling lonely and don’t have anyone to talk to just call Him your Friend or your Comforter (John 14:26) and He’ll end your loneliness. When you try to talk to your friends and family about your problems and they just don’t seem to understand and can’t help you, just call on your Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6) and He’ll advise you on what to do. When it seem as though you can’t do anything right and you just want another chance, just call on your God of a Second Chance and He’ll forget all about your past. For every obstacle that you face just call on The Man with Many Names and He will indeed answer.Allison Minor is a senior nursing major from Eunice.
