All-class reunion for GHS to be heldAll classes of Grambling High School will reunite Nov. 3-5 during the Grambling State Homecoming Weekend. MC Conference set for Oct. 18-20The 19th Annual Mass Communication Conference will be held Oct. 18-20 in Washington- Johnson Complex Room 100.The theme is “Covering Crises: Disaster, War and Health.”The conference will start with a reception Wednesday at 6-7 p.m. On Thursday, various presenters – including alumni – will hold a panel discussion in the morning and conduct workshops from 1:30-4:30 p.m.Additional broadcasting sessions will be held Friday from 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m. in Washington-Johnson Complex and the TV Center in Woodson Hall.AKA sorority holds drive on Monday The Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is holding their annual Coat and Clothing Drive Monday, Oct. 23 until Tuesday, Oct. 31. Donation stations will be located through out the GSU campus and some local businesses and churches. Members of the chapter will have a table set up on the campus in front of the Favrot Student Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. collecting donations. All proceeds/donations will be given to the needy families of the local area and to local shelters. All advance tickets are $10.For more information, call (318) 572-9267.Fire Departmentto hold fundraiser The Grambling Volunteer Fire Department will sell chicken and hamburger plates Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. until game time. The Chicken plates are $6 and $5 for Hamburger plates.Game day parking changes released Due to construction on campus, some parking spaces for the home football games are no longer available. Starting with the home game Saturday, Oct. 21 persons entering the campus must pay to park, said Delores Smith, director of administrative services. Students living on campus will be allowed access to the dormitory areas with their student identification cards and university parking decals. Students should enter the campus at the Stadium Drive and Central Street entrance. Employees working on game day will be allowed access to the campus with a game day workers’ pass and their university parking decals from the Stadium Drive and Central Street entrance as well. Smith said there will be a shuttle service available beginning at 1 p.m. to transport fans with football tickets to the stadium.
