Shanica Thompson, of West Monroe, will be featured in the Sept. 11 issue of JET Magazine as the Beauty of the Week. She is currently a psychology major at Grambling State University. At GSU she was crowned Miss Cover Girl 2006 in March and is a member of the Grambling State University Marching Band. Her photo was taken by Monroe native, Robert Wright, who is currently at photography school in Chicago. Thompson is the granddaughter of Rose Jenson, of West Monroe.
