Is there a religion for evil?

“Is there really any religion out there that truly promotes evil?”

Whenever we want to know the truth concerning the Word, we’ve got to go straight to the Word, because many people who read the Word won’t tell us the truth.

In Exodus 20:3, God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.”

In verse four, He says, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.”

In verses five and six, God the Father says, “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My commandments.”

If you are a Christian – in other words, if you have truly confessed with your mouth Jesus as Lord of your life and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9) – then there should be no way that you could possibly believe that the Bible isn’t real or isn’t the absolute truth, written by men of God as they took down dictation, as given to them by God’s Holy Spirit (2nd Timothy 3:16).

Christians are commanded by God to serve, or worship, no other god but Him. To serve any other god is the same as hating Him, the True and Living God (Exodus 20:5). And to hate Him is to draw His wrath, placing one’s self and generations after him to suffer generational curses.

So, again, the question is: “Is there any religion out there that truly promotes evil?”

Go back up to Exodus 20:5. There, you’ll see what God has laid out as the consequence, or result, of bowing down to any other god. He says that “the iniquities of the fathers” will visit upon (or be passed down to) “the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me.”

Okay, well what is “iniquity,” one might ask? Iniquity is sin, unrighteousness, wickedness. It is the practice of sin; it is evil. And as you can see from the fifth verse, it is passed down the family tree of those who walk in iniquity.

Keep in mind that iniquities are followed by consequences (Galatians 6:7-8). So, with the passed down iniquity is the passed down punishment of God.

So we know that God hates evil. And anything that He hates, He tells us to steer clear of it. To worship another god is sin; and sin is evil. And you can best believe that God will judge evil.

There are people who say: “We all serve the same God” and “There are many ways to God.” That’s what people say. But the Bible says in John 3:18, “He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

The Lord Jesus, God’s gift to the world (John 3:16-17), is saying, Himself, that anybody who does not believe in Him as God’s gift of salvation and Savior to the world already is condemned (and living in darkness). In other words, the only way to God the Father is through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.

The Lord Jesus says (in John 14:6), “I am the way, and the life: no man (not even ‘good’ men) cometh to the Father, but by Me.”
