God’s plan is the right plan

Do you value life? Do you live knowing that tomorrow is not promised? Do you take everything for granted because you think you are too young to die?

Did you know 5,714 people died in Louisiana last year and 630 of them were infants? You can see that death has nothing to do with age and everything to do with what has already been predestined.

We tend to forget that earth is not our home, nor is it some resting place. We fail to realize that we are only passing through, that time will not rewind itself whenever we make mistakes in life. It has been written that God granted us 70 years, but if one endures God’s will their time can be lengthened. Yet we live thinking time is forever when death is just around the corner. The time to wake up and turn God’s plan into your plan is now.

You should be preparing yourself for eternal life. God’s plan is for us to obey his commandments and love one another. Life is too short to waste time pondering over how people treat you. What about how you’re treating God?

It doesn’t matter what people say, all that matters is that you are one with God. It doesn’t matter if your best friend stabs you in the back because the only person you can really depend on is God. It doesn’t matter if you can’t afford clothes that are in season. God’s designs never go out of season. And it doesn’t matter if that girl or guy left you. God said, "I will love you and be here for you when all others forsake you."

God never leaves us; we always seem to leave him. He is the one you need when life has wounded you, and he is the one you need when life makes you smile. We need him like we need air to breathe. You can’t live without air and you can’t live without him.

Whether something has happened to you recently or in the past, you must not use that as an excuse. You must refuse to blame your past for your present or to let it ruin your future. People often hold on to their past because they think there is something from the past they still need. They cling to things because they fear they will never be able to replace them.

Did you know that God has more for you? If you are trusting God for your future, then you have not seen your best days. There’s more ahead of you than there is behind you. Your steps are carefully observed and arranged by God. They are designed to achieve a special purpose in life. You should rejoice because receiving a degree is one way of pursuing a goal that defies human manipulation.

Although it is good to have such a plan, it means nothing if you have no power to perform the plan. God sends people in and out of your life to exercise your faith and develop your character. When they are gone, you are left with the knowledge that God is with you to deliver you wherever you go.

Don’t turn him away because, in the end, God is all you have. This message is not only directed toward students but to all because we have moved so far away from the masterful plan of salvation.

Thank you, Lord, for showing us your wisdom in our ignorance and your strength in our weakness. Thank you for using every challenge today to demonstrate your victory tomorrow.

If you are going to hold on to your miracle, your dream, and the fulfillment of God’s plan for your life then you are going to have to keep moving toward what God has for you. (Bishop T.D. Jakes)
