Often, we hear and use many adages in our society. Most of the time, we think very little of them. However, I believe there is one adage which bears the truth. That is “there is no place like home.” It is so good to play in front of the home crowd.
Moreover, it is even better to play for homecoming. We have worked hard this week to prepare for Saturday’s game. We know that fans will not settle for anything less. This weekend, we proudly recognize the incomparable Grambling College football team, who were undefeated.
Homecoming is a special time for students, parents, alumni, university employees and the community. It is so special because of the legacy we have at GSU.
Through this medium, I say thank you to the loyal fans that traveled to Jackson, Miss. for our game against Jackson State. As I have said time and time again, fan involvement really helps to motivate our team. Down the stretch, we would love to tout the largest fan base in college football.
As we await Saturday, we are fortunate to have no major injuries among the players. We are ready to play. This game is one of the impacting games in the SWAC play. We are 5-0 in the conference, while Texas Southern is 1-4 in the SWAC. With a win, we can clinch a the western division.
We have a very comprehensive plan of action for our noted celebration, homecoming. HAPPY HOMECOMING!
