Alpha plot vandalized; suspect unknown

On Sunday morning at approximately 9 a.m., a few members of the Delta Sigma chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc discovered that their plot had been vandalized. According to the members who discovered the white paint on the benches, grass and the ground mural, the area was vandalized sometime between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. on this past Sunday morning.

One member stated, “It’s sad because this makes our university’s appearance look bad as well.”

Alpha Sylvester Lewis noted, “We have made a report to the university police in regard to the vandalism, and clean-up of the area is under way.”

Currently, there are no suspects.

Lewis noted, “We don’t know who did it, and we can’t make any accusations.”

Because the property belongs to the university, this matter will be resolved by Judicial Affairs.

In regard to punishment, Student Organizations Coordinator Charlette Favors said, “They will have to go before the Judicial Department for a hearing, and the Judicial Committee will decide what type of punishment would be appropriate for their vandalism.”
