David Banner once again has released another club jam for all you club bangers.
The album, titled Certified, includes guest appearances from Jadakiss, 8Ball, Marcus, MJG, Jagged Edge, Jazze Pha, Case, Twista, Lil’ Boosie, Magic, B.G., Sky, Dead Prez, Talib Kweli and Kamikaze. The just-released CD debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Album Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Rap Album Chart.
The album itself is OK if you’re listening to the beat and not the lyrics (like myself).
Personally, I’m not a huge fan on rap, but I am a fan of David Banner. He produces good music.
On Certified, there are three songs that I like and highly recommend – track4 “Play,” track 5 “F***” and track 7 “On Everything” featuring Twista. “On Everything” is one of my favorites because of the interplay of Twista’s lightning-fast rap and David Banner’s spelling out of Mississippi, his home state.
Another favorite, “Play,” pulled me in and the beat should have the same effect on other listeners.
But I do not recommend that this CD be played around children between the ages of 4 and 12 because it has explicit lyrics.
On a scale to 1 to 10, Certified deserves a 7. If you’re looking for a new CD to add to your collection, David Banner should be high on your list of must-haves.
