Choppa coming to Grambling

Ever since he’s reclaimed the title as the “Da Real Choppa,” this artist has been all over the country showing everybody what “Choppa Style” is all about.

Leaving No Limit Records, and now on Body Head Roy Jones label, Choppa has been seen on BET’s show “Uncut” and is waiting to release his next album.

Now Choppa is going to show Grambling some love by coming this Tuesday, April 19, for Grooveline Magazine’s “Music is Life Tour.” The theme of the tour is HIV awareness; a very serious topic that must be supported by all people, especially young Black people.

Almost every organization that was asked to support this event in Grambling had no problem saying yes.

Choppa jumped on the chance to come to Grambling, and has opted to meet and greet the students between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. right in front of the Student Union. Many different AIDS organizations will be out there as well giving information on the prevention of STD’s and especially AIDS.

Another special guest, Ken Ivy -from the 50 Cent video and others as well as movies- will be in front of the union. Ivy, who has turned his life around and is determined to tell the youth to stop their foolish and immoral behavior, could serve as a great speaker for the Grambling campus.

Ivy has proven to be a man of his word, and our motto includes everyone. He too, is somebody.

There will also be performances from New Orleans’ finest “Jiggalaters,” and, “Partners N Crime,” as well as others.

Choppa is the headliner of the tour and is scheduled to perform. The Jiggalaters and the rest of the artists on Grooveline Magazine’s tour will do short sets.

Choppa wanted to make the most out of his time in Grambling and decided to throw a party on Tuesday night at Plateau Records. Tuesday will be a New Orleans night to remember with doors opening at 8 p.m. $7 with student ID, $10 without. Make sure you come early to make sure you are guaranteed a spot to see a good show and get your “jig on.”

No matter what the weather is this Tuesday, the performance at the union and the party is going to be held. If you have any questions contact the party’s host and event coordinators at TopNotchIncMedia.com or Grooveline Magazine.
