The Grambling State University track and field teams hoisted another trophy of victory this past weekend. The men won first place, while the women finished in second place.
Assistant track coach Carlos Robinson was pleased and talked about not only the efforts of last week, but for the whole year.
"This a tribute of how hard the kids have worked," said Robinson.
"It is also the training regimens that have made these kids prepared to run."
The men's side tallied up 159.50 points. They were led by Darwin Price, MVP of the meet.
The women's score tallied 180 points. They were led by Alexandra Afloari, who won the long jump and the pole vault.
Several track players, including Price and Lester Jones, qualified for the NCAA regional meet May 30 in Louisville.
Bedsides winning the outdoor championship, they won the SWAC outdoor meet.
