Grambling West Campus Annex ribbon cutting set for Wednesday

Grambling State University President Frank G. Pogue, faculty, staff, students and many invited guests will cut the ribbon unveiling the university’s newest campus for academic, housing and program expansion. Grambling’s West Campus Annex will open Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. at 2776 Highway 150, two miles west of New Rocky Valley Baptist Church.

The newly acquired property, the former Ruston Developmental Center, was donated to Grambling State University through Senate Bill 583 (Act 236) of the 2012 session of the Louisiana Legislature. The bill was sponsored by Sen. Rick Gallot (District 29).

“I am inviting the entire community to one of the most important events at Grambling in recent years,” said Pogue. “This acquisition of 157 acres of land and 47 buildings will better serve our students, the region and nation with a sharper focus on academics and academic opportunities.”
