KGRM gives back to students

The Second Annual Grambling State University Radiothon will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013, Homecoming Weekend, at Grambling’s own KGRM 91.5 FM Radio Station, in the Washington-Johnson Complex, from 8:00 am to 8:00 p.m.

The purpose of Radiothon is to continue to enhance the academic profile of the institution, and to increase awareness among alumni, parents, friends, the community, and local business about the “Power of ONE” gift to Grambling State University.

The ‘power of one’ gift to GSU, multiplied by thousands of donors, can transform our institution; provide excellent educational opportunities for students; and permit the university to provide unrestricted funding to critical areas such as academic and athletic scholarships, recruitment and retention.

This event greatly enhances the enthusiasm and morale amongst students, alumni, friends, and the entire university community.  During last year’s Radiothon, many alums and donors couldn’t have been more ecstatic about the opportunity to express their aspirations towards a continued commitment to giving,.

Because of the generous contributions of numerous alums, friends, staff, religious institutions, and even students, we are pleased to publicly announce, congratulate and award ten $1000 dollar scholarships to the following Grambling State students:

Jared Banks, English major; Starleana Brandon, English major; Pamela Frazier, Human Resources major; Geronda Hill, Social Work major; Joseph Joseph, CIS/Accounting major; Krystle Kellum, Leisure Studies major; La’Quisha M. Nute, Social Work major; Ashley Pollard, Nursing major; Alinza Rogers, Early Childhood Education major; and Yoallhiada Smith, Computer Science major.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Radiothon, please bring your donation to the live radio broadcast, on the 2nd floor of the Washington Johnson Complex. Or mail your donations to Grambling State University, Institutional Advancement, GSU Campus Box 4236, Grambling, LA   71245.  Call in numbers are: (318) 274-2182 or (318) 274-4487.  All contributions are tax deductible.

On behalf of the Grambling State University, KGRM would also like to extend thanks in advance for the community’s continued support of the university, and look forward to seeing everyone on Homecoming Weekend, Friday, November 1st.

The committee members who have, and continue to make this event a success are:

Shirley A. Clay (Chair), Joyce Evans (Co-Chair), Casey Bryd, Craig Jones, and Rose Wright.
