City to hold Christmas parade

The City of Grambling will hold its Annual Christmas Parade on December 11. Parade officials invite all area groups and organizations to participate.The parade is scheduled to line up at New Rocky Valley Baptist Church, Martin Luther King Avenue, at 10 a.m. and will begin promptly at 11 a.m. The parade will move east on Martin Luther King Avenue, move through the business area and Grambling State University; take a left at the Catholic Center; and end at the Grambling Community Center located behind the Fire Station on Stadium View Drive.

Santa will pass out the treats to the children when they enter the center and all parade goers will be treated with a Christmas cheer bag of fruit and candy.

The theme of the parade is “Peace on Earth.” Please use the theme on all cars, trucks, vans or any other vehicle that is in the parade. All churches of the greater Grambling communities are requested to help spread the meaning of Christmas by participating in the parade.

Businesses, schools, civic organizations and other clubs are invited to show us that you are an integral part of this community with your participation. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, sororities, fraternities, Masonic groups and others will have special places in the parade. Marching groups and Grambling State University organizations are welcome.
