Jeffery Sims is a man of few words but when it comes to his Grambling State athletics he has a lot to say.
Sims, a Ruston native, plays a huge role in the success of Grambling athletics as Director of Operations.
Sims plays a huge role in making sure that everything runs the way it should.
“I make sure all the events are done, make sure every hotel is booked, makes sure everybody eats on the trips,” Sims said.
He is the glue to the Grambling state athletics.
His responsibilities include the oversight of facilities, event management and all capital improvements for the athletics department.
He assists in the scheduling, supervision, and administration of all athletic facilities while also maintaining relationships with campus constituents, campus security, visiting groups and outside organizations.
Sims joined the GSU Athletics Senior Staff in the fall of 2017, after working in many capacities within the department.
Grambling State has been a part of Sims’ whole life. He said being able to manage and help keep this program afloat is very important to him so for him to live out his dream.
