Former NFL QB Peyton Manning opens new scholarship to Grambling students
Peyton Manning, former NFL quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, has endowed six scholarships to six historically black colleges and universities, in which Grambling State University was one of them.
The scholarship will remain available for the life of the university, thus providing assistance for students in need, for many years to come.
It’s an exciting moment for GSU because it’s another resource that will be made available for students every year, therefore giving students a chance to achieve their education.
“We’re creating long term sustainability,” said Marc Newman, Vice President for Advancement Research and Economic Development.
Tuition is a constant worry amongst college students, however Grambling State University strives to make college affordable for everyone.
GSU makes sure there are waivers as well as scholarships available for students so that they can meet their educational needs.
Along with scholarships, GSU has a Title III Program where the Louisiana Board of Regents have a 60/40 match agreement.
Because of the match, it will cause a difference for the university and the students will be able to reap the benefits of it.
Students who are interested in applying for the scholarship must visit the school website at www.gram.edu/finaid/scholarships for eligibility requirements as well as how to apply for the scholarship.
