Grambling State is a university famous for its DJs and the DJ Twinz have always had an impact not just in Grambling, but all over.

2020 has not been a great year for anybody in the college environment at Grambling State University due to the coronavirus.

Missing in the campus community has been the sounds of whistles blowing, helmets clashing together and the crowd cheering to the top of their lungs as a tiger football player runs the football to the endzone.

College football is the highlight of the year for Grambling State University. Students, fans, and loyal alumni miss the band in the stands playing their favorite tune so they can rock out too, and then a sound comes over the Jumbotron “okayyy okayyy” the famous sound of DJ Twinz.

All this hype leads up to the ultimate game day after party with sounds provided by the famous Louisiana DJ’s is the big event.

The pandemic has every student on Grambling State University campus realizing how much they enjoyed life pre pandemic.

Even though the pandemic has changed campus life, DJ Twinz have still been around bringing light to student lives, even in a virtual world.

All school events and activities must apply by the coronavirus guidelines and most importantly, social distancing by staying six feet apart from one another.

While college football is being pushed back events have been ongoing throughout the semester.

The Favorite Student Union Board, Student Government Association and other departments at Grambling State University thought of creative ways to associate with the student body as a whole in the virtual world, such as the Grad Night quarantine edition.

Like most of the virtual events, it was shown via Facebook and Instagram live by visiting the active accounts of both the DJ Twinz, Lamon and Laquann Wimberly and the SGA Presidents.

“Our job as campus DJs is to still be involved with the student body as well as the Grambling citizens,” Laquann Wimberly said.

“Even though the world is changing, we still strive to provide good music and service for our school,” Lamon Wimberly said.

Looking forward, now that it is official that Tiger football will be in the spring, thousands of Gramblinites will gather together from all over for the six game season to cheer on the tigers to another SWAC championship, while rocking out to DJ Twinz as they play music over the Jumbotron.
