Bayou Classic attendees encouraged to observe precautions in NOLA

The Bayou Classic is more than a football game. 

This yearly ensemble is one of the world’s most profound college sports rivalries, bringing the fans, students and alumni of Grambling State University and Southern University to New Orleans every November.

This influx of people is why safety should be at the forefront .

This year’s 46th annual Bayou Classic is approaching and it is pivotal that all of the attendees are aware of the enhanced precautions that are going to be taking place to ensure that everyone has a safe and captivating weekend. 

All attendees should be aware that the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Smoothie King Center and Champions Square will implement strict guidelines in regards to all bags, purses and briefcases. 

If any or all of these items are larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches then they are prohibited from entering the inside of these highlighted facilities. 

To add, all bags that enter these places must be clear and cannot exceed the previously stated dimensions. 

Small clutch bags will be allowed, however the maximum size for the bag is 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. 

In addition, there will be exceptions made for medical bags after they are thoroughly searched.

Examples of prohibited bags include backpacks of any size, oversized luggage and coolers. 

Additionally, animals, banners, containers, glass, contraband of any kind, or any other items that are deemed inappropriate by management are also prohibited inside of the specified premises. 

The highlighted facilities will not have accommodations to store any items and the guests who will be attending this event will continue to be screened prior to entering the facilities.
