Grambling Alumnae and the Delta Iota Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness and Census Informational booth on Oct. 12 at GSU’s first home football game of the season.

While students and fans were cheering on their respective team, members of this organization were walking around passing out information about registering for the 2020 Census, registering to vote, and Breast Cancer information.

The booth included a raffle for a basket with breast cancer paraphernalia, and a donation box to benefit survivors and people fighting breast cancer.

Kylah Ingram, 20, a biology major from Houston, Texas, really enjoyed interacting with other people as she passed out information.

“I usually stray away from bothering people, but we (members of Delta Sigma Theta) have made it our mission to educate black people about breast cancer,” Ingram said.

“So, knowing that I helped relay important information was enough for me, and it is a part of why I joined my organization.”
