New GSU leaders announced

Grambling State University is going into the 2019-2020 school year with several new beginnings. With new construction, new food services and new leaders around campus, Grambling is on the rise. Many of the new leaders are alumni of our illustrious institution. 

Campus Living and Housing is welcoming their new director Tanisha Cousby. She is an alumna of Grambling State University. During her time at GSU she has worked as a student leader at Barnes and Nobles. Cousby has over 15 years of work experience with HBCUs including the Southern University System. 

Phranses Williams was named the new Director of Budget and Financial Planning. She has previously worked with major companies such as offices of The Home Depot and Johnson Controls. Williams is also an alumna of Grambling State University. 

Admissions added new Director of Admissions Gilberto Alvarado. Alvarado is an alumnus of an HBCU, Fayetteville State University. He previously served as the Vice President of Adult Education in North Carolina. Alvarado has over 25 years of work in administration work of higher education. 

The Social Work department welcomes their new Associate Dean of the School of Social Work and an Assistant Professor, Dr. Jacqueline Garrison. As an alumna of Grambling State University, Garrison has worked at Grambling for over 15 years. She received her doctorate of Social Work from Capella University. In her time here, Garrison has also served as the  Title IV-E Child Welfare Director.  

Grambling is in a season of progression, these new campus leaders are going to continue with the momentum.
