Tiger players get direction from scouts as GSU hosted their 2019 pro day at Eddie G. Robinson Stadium. Fourteen Tiger players participated in the activities.

Grambling State University football team held its 2019 football pro day at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium on March 19 in front of NFL scouts representing 13 different professional teams.
“I thought it was a good day,” Grambling State head football coach Broderick Fobbs told reporters. “This was a tremendous opportunity for these young men and to get an opportunity to perform in front of these scouts.”
Scouts from 13 NFL teams were on hand to look on as Tiger players went through drills.
Fourteen current and former GSU student-athletes went through a two-hour workout in front of NFL scouts on Tuesday. Student-athletes who participated in the NFL Pro Day included, defensive tackle Linwood Banks, offensive lineman Darrell Brown, cornerback Trevaun Calahan, safety Percy Cargo, Jr., linebacker De’Arius Christmas, defensive end La’Allan Clark, defensive tackle Rodney Jackson, wide receiver Devohn Lindsey, kicker Marc Orozco, wide receiver Calief Samon, safety Jaylon Terrell, defensive end Brandon Varner, defensive end Caleb Wells and linebacker Malcolm Williams.
Lindsey stood out recording a 35 inch vertical with a 40-yard dash time of 4.4 seconds.
Cargo made an interesting statement coming in 10 pounds heavier from 205 to 215 pounds while clocking an 4.6 in the 40-yard dash.
Grambling State did not have a player selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, but did have players sign free-agent contracts. Montrel Meander signed with the Cleveland Browns and was later traded during the season to the Oakland Raiders. Martez Carter signed with the Washington Redskins, but ended the season with the New Orleans Saints. Most notably and received quality playing time was offensive lineman Trent Scott. Scott signed with the Los Angeles Chargers and continued to be a key member on the offensive line during the season.
Grambling State has two members currently with NFL teams Chester Rogers of the Indianapolis Colts and Chad Williams of the Arizona Cardinals. The 2019 NFL Draft takes place April 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.
