The Grambling State women’s bowling team competed in its final Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) meet of the season during the SWAC East Round-Up.

The Lady Tigers picked up a win over Alabama A&M during the opening day, but it was not enough as GSU missed out on a SWAC Tournament berth.

Junior Ariel Henderson led the way for Grambling and finished the weekend in 36th place. Henderson registered 2,126 total pints in 14 matches and averaged 151.8 pinfall. In addition, she rolled a 218 in a loss against Prairie View A&M.

Two-sport athlete Catherine Conn, who is a goalkeeper on women’s soccer, had a great weekend in just her second tournament. Conn finished 40th in the tournament with 1,176 total pins. She rolled a career-high 192 in the loss to PV A&M.

GSU returns to action March 1-3 in Baton Rouge, La. at the Mardi Gras Challenge, hosted by Southern University.
