Local midterm elections results

    The midterm elections were held on Tuesday Nov. 6.
Here are the winners of the elections for Grambling and Lincoln Parish.

Grambling City Council Members
   • G. Denise Dupree
Dupree has the most votes with 586, which represents 15.2 percent of votes cast.
Dupree quote: “The city sets itself for the future by simple growing. We have to be open to innovation and support creativity by listening to the concerns of those that live in Grambling.”

    • Yanise Days
Days came in second with 556 votes, which represents 14.42 percent of votes casts.
Days quote: “Relative to our future, we need to take a look at long-range comprehensive planning in all facets of municipal growth.”

    • Cathy Holmes
Holmes came in third with 505 votes, which represents 13.10 percent of votes casts.
 
  • Toby B. Bryan
Bryan came in fourth with 403 votes, which represents 10.45 percent of votes casts.

    • Cassandra D. Smith
Smith came in fifth with 354 votes, which represents 9.18 percent of votes casts.
Smith quote: “The city of Grambling must continue to recruit citizens with economic ideas and knowledge as to how to put those ideas into actions.”

District Judge -- 3rd Judicial District Court, Div. C  
    • Bruce Hampton 
Hampton won with 11,776 votes, which represents 57 percent of votes casts. 
    • Monique B. Clement
Clement lost with 8,864 votes, which represents 43 percent of votes casts

Referenda results

Fantasy Sports

Fantasy Sports will be allowed in Lincoln Parish. The measure passed with a total of 6,788 votes, which represents 52.50 percent of votes cast

City of Grambling Prop. No. 1 of 3 -- 5.30 Mills Renewal 

Passed: Total of votes in favor was 598, which represents 69.37 percent of votes casts.

Under the provisions of Article VI, Section 30 and 32 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to renew the levy of and collect a tax of 5.30 mills on all the property subject to taxation in the City.

City of Grambling Prop. No. 2 of 3 -- 4.48 Mills Renewal
Passed: Total of votes in favor was 604, which represents 69.35 percent of votes casts.

Under the provisions of Article VI, Section 30 and 32 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to renew the levy of and collect a tax of 4.48 mills on all the property subject to taxation in the City.

City of Grambling Prop. No. 3 of 3 -- 26.100 Mills Renewal

Passed: Total of votes was 611, which represents 70.15 percent of votes casts.

Under the provisions of Article VI, Section 30 and 32 of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to renew the levy of and collect a tax of 26.100 mills on all the property subject to taxation in the City.
