Alpha Theta Chapter hosts Pilates class
The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., closed the week with Pilates in the Men’s Gym.
Ariana Oliver, is a 21-year-old senior biology major from Austin, Texas, and she is over the Women’s Health and Fitness committee.
Focused on targeting women’s health and wellness, Oliver figured Pilates was a great start, as well as, a good way for people to relax and have a good time.
“I think yoga is very relaxing and fun,” said Oliver. “It is almost midterms and school is getting a little stressful, so I felt like people may need a little breather and this was a good event to do.”
And that it was. Students left the gym feeling refreshed and well-stretched thanks to the class.
“I thought it was fun. I wish it was a little longer,” said student Amira Huey. “I would definitely do it again.”
To further promote the benefits of health and wellness, Oliver says to expect more classes in pilates and other workouts in the future.
