Miss Grambling State University offers students welcome for Spring 2016

Welcome Back Tigers,

Thank God, we have survived another semester and returned back home to Dear Ole Grambling.

Most people value the New Year because of the new beginning and opportunity to start fresh, but you don’t need a tomorrow to fix today! Life might not always seem to be in our favor but God has a plan for all of us and trust that He always has something greater in store. So I challenge you to trust God, believe in yourself, and give your full effort today in preparation for tomorrow.

The Royal Court and I have a lot of events planned for the spring. Here’s a slight preview: Miss Freshmen, JaMariea Davis-Miller, will be hosting a Discovering You Event on Wednesday, February 24, in the theatre, for freshmen to explore the many avenues they can take in college.

Miss Sophomore, Noelle Barnes, will be hosting part two to some of her fall 2015 events as well as a Women Empowerment Event called “WCW.”

Miss Junior, Genesis Williams, will be hitting the yard on Tuesday, March 29 with the health initiative, Play Like A Girl.

Miss Senior, Brianna Stewart, will present “Next Move” dedicated to helping her class with post-graduation decisions.

And as far as myself, I currently have a social media initiative going on, Gems of GSU, for students to nominate females in their class that succeed academically as well as in the community. I am also doing sign-ups for students that have the desire to showcase their entrepreneurship skills in the student expo that I will be hosting on Tuesday, February 23.

We have these events and so much more planned for you all!

For questions, concerns, or more info you can follow our Instagram page (@gsu_royalcourt), or tell us next week as we dorm walk and bring you “New Tips, for the New Year”!

Reigning with Tiger Pride,

Miss Grambling State University
