Early voting to begins saturday

Secretary of State Tom Schedler is encouraging all Louisianians eligible to vote in the Saturday, Nov. 21 Gubernatorial General Election to consider voting early.

Early voting begins on Saturday, Nov. 7 and continues through Saturday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, excluding Sunday, Nov. 8 and Wednesday, Nov. 11  due to the Veterans Day holiday.

“Early voting is a great way to conveniently cast your ballot on your schedule instead of having to fit it in on Election Day,” said Secretary of State Tom Schedler.

“With turnout disappointingly low during the primary, I am strongly urging our state’s voters to engage in this important election. No excuses. Get informed and cast your ballot,” he said.

Voters should utilize Louisiana’s award winning smartphone app, GeauxVote Mobile, to find out where to vote, what’s on their ballot and their voting districts. Statewide, there are more than 150 candidate races including several statewide elected officials and legislators. Additionally, there are 116 propositions in 51 parishes.

Citizens who want to vote early may do so in person at their parish Registrar of Voters Office or at other designated locations. For a complete listing of early voting locations visit https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/EarlyVoting.
